Honey Lemon Salmon: Saving Money at Whole Foods

by MHSjennie on March 28, 2014

I have written over the last few weeks about how I save money at Whole Foods using their 356 Brand. My friends are always telling me that Whole Foods is too expensive, but if you utilize their 365 brands and coupons you can make shopping there affordable!

Saving Money at Whole Foods

The biggest savings is to make SIMPLE recipes! Who has the time to look for 10 ingredients for one recipe?! Not only will making simple meals save you money, but it also saves you time! Mama likes it easy and that is what I have tried to bring you in this series… EASY and cost-effective recipes. Here are the posts if you have missed them:

Organic Milk: What that means and how to find your milk rating!

My last post in this series is an easy peasy Honey Lemon Salmon recipe:

Honey Lemon Salmon

  • 2 lbs of Salmon
  • 3 tbs 365 olive oil
  • 1/4 cup 365 organic honey (my boys love the squeezable bear!)
  • 3 Drops of doTERRA Lemon essential oil
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Preheat the oven to 375. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place your Salmon fillets on top of the foil. Mix the rest of the ingredients together in a bowl and spread over each fillet. Cover the salmon with more foil (this is the key to get super moist fish)! Bake for 15 minutes. Serve hot and enjoy!

  • 365 Everyday Value Extra Virgin Olive Oil: $6.49. 33.8 oz
  • 365 Everyday Value Honey: $8.99, 24 oz.
  • Whole Catch Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon Fillets: $10.99, 2 fillets, 12 oz.

This is SO easy and tastes delicious! The honey gives it a sweet flavor and the few drops of lemon oil adds a nice citrus boost. You could also squeeze fresh lemon over the top to achieve that lemon flavor, but the essential oil gives it a really rich lemon flavor that I can’t get with lemon juice. I like to crumble my leftover salmon on top of a bed of greens for a protein packed delicious salad!

I hope this shows that regardless of your cooking ability and time restraints,  you can throw together some quick and easy dishes that are also affordable using Whole Foods 365 Everyday Value Brand!  Plan your meals around Whole Foods Coupons and then stack those with manufacturer coupons for your biggest savings. Check to see what their Friday One Day deals are too. I have saved so much money on meat, produce and soups by taking advantage of these sales.

I would love to hear how you save money at Whole Foods and what your favorite recipes are using their 365 Everyday Value Brand. Happy Shopping Mamas!

I was provided food from Whole Foods to cook these meals with my family. However, all ideas and opinions are my own! You can read more about my Disclosure & Disclaimer Policy here. Feel free to contact me with any questions! Thanks for reading!
