Saving Money at Whole Foods: Chicken Mozzarella

by MHSjennie on March 14, 2014

I go though my moments where I love to be in the kitchen, cooking up something new, but let’s be honest… most days I am doing good if I shower, brush my teeth and put on deodorant! Now that the weather is getting a little “warmer” (yes I am focusing on our few nice days here lately), I am reminded of summer months and how hours in the culdesac playing after nap time turns in to me not wanting to go inside to cook dinner! I want EASY recipes and ones with as little ingredients as possible!

Thus, I am bringing you my easy peasy Chicken Mozzarella recipe. Not only are there only 3 ingredients which makes dinner time super quick and easy, but it is a crock pot meal so you have to do nothing but press a button!

easy chicken mozzarella

  • 4 Skinless Boneless Chicken Breasts
  • 1 25 oz. jar of Pasta Sauce
  • 2 cups of Mozzarella Cheese

Put chicken in the crock pot and pour the pasta sauce over top. Cook on low for 6 hours. Serve on plates and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. That’s it!

The best thing about this recipe is I used all organic and/or natural ingredients on the CHEAP with Whole Foods 365 brand!

  • 365 Chicken Breasts: $5.04 lb
  • 25 oz jar of Organic Pasta sauce: $1.99
  • Organic bag of Mozzarella Shredded Cheese: Organic $8.99 lb. You can get a bag (non-organic) for $4.29 lb. if you want to save even more money :)

One thing I LOVE about Whole Foods is the quality of their meat! Even if you aren’t buying organic you can rest assured you are buying the best meat for your family! Read about Whole Foods meat/poultry standards and see what sets them apart from the rest
