Mammoth Cave Adventures

Ziplining

I recently posted about my experience with Yogi Bear’s Mammoth Cave Camp Jellystone. While we were there I had two things on my Bucketlist- Ziplining and a Cave Tour. We were invited by Mammoth Cave Adventures, located in Cave City, KY, to come and Zipline on the first and original Canopy Styled Tour in the state of Kentucky. I loved that it was less than 15 minutes away from the Camp so you don’t have to travel too far to get in an AMAZING Zipline! The course houses 2 separate courses that travel across 7 Zip Lines Spanning over 60 acres of hills, trees and woods!

Ziplining

They have a primary course of 5 ziplines and a secondary course that includes 4 ziplines and each course carries its own weight restrictions. The secondary course is for the smaller adventurers and the primary is for the adults, which is the one I went on.   The lines have you weaving in and out of deep green canopies and over lush open meadows, traveling anywhere form 600 feet to 950 feet at speeds of 20 to 40 MPH!!! I have never been more scared in my LIFE! I almost didn’t do it. Through my tears and tummy troubles, I took a leap of faith, LITERALLY, and sailed along my first Zip Line.

Ziplining

It was exhilarating to say the least! There is no way I can even describe how amazing this experience was for me. Once I stepped off that first platform, my nerves went away and I felt FREE. We had a group of about 10 so once you step off one platform and step onto the next one you are there for a bit as each person comes across the Zip Line. This allowed us to chat and have fun in-between Zips. It took us close to two hours to complete the 5 Ziplines which I loved because it allowed for the adventure to last awhile! We had so much fun zipping along the canopies of trees and met some great people along the way! In addition to the Zip Lines you get to experience walking in the tree tops with the 2 Sky Bridges which actually connect a few of the Zip Lines.

Ziplining

One thing I learned while I was there, is how SAFE they are with everyone who steps onto the platform. They have trained staff who take care of everything. You aren’t breaking yourself, they do. They also make sure that you are always hooked up to something so there is no risk of you ever falling off of the zip, the platform, the bridge etc, trust me I asked! They walk you through it all which made me feel so safe and allowed me to have the time of my life! As you can see below, one of my guides (I named him Bear) was trying to get my comfortable and I was SCARED TO DEATH. After the first Zip, I knew he had my back and he took such good care of me!

Ziplining

While there, you can also step off the 70 foot Mammoth Cave Drop Tower the ONLY one of it’s kind in Kentucky, take a horse back ride through the trees or take a ride on their Giant Super Swing. I love that you can have so many adventures in one place!

Overall, I had the time of my life and my next adventure of Ziplining will have some big shoes to fill because Mammoth Cave Adventures really was an amazing experience. They know how to have a good time and take great care of their customers!

So much fun. I want to take my kids. They'd love it and they'd love to visit the Jellystone campground.
