6 Ways to Help Your Local Community During the COVID-19

by MHSjennie on March 15, 2020

Looking for ways to help your local community during this confusing time?

1. Consider donating for those children who are food insecure to Joshua’s Place or Shine Like Sable. Your Local food pantries are likely in need, or will be in the near future, as well.

Joshua's Place

Piada Italian Street Food, is offering a free kids pasta with sauce, cheese and a fountain drink, Monday – Friday (March 16 – April 3), during lunch hours of 10:45am – 1:00pm to students affected.

2. To help small businesses, consider buying gift cards. If your favorite local retailer has a website, keep supporting them with your purchases. The large companies will survive this- it’s the small businesses that need your extra love right now.

3. Order Take Out from your favorite local restaurants. Bonus- you don’t have to make that Raumen you bought yet!

4. Do Your Part. Understand that while the instructions given for social distancing probably aren’t for your personal health, you need to Do Your Part to protect those who are at risk. And, by keeping this situation from overwhelming our medical community, they can effectively care for those who are sick.

5. Practice kindness and graciousness… in person and online.

6. Look around for other ways you can help. I’m so thankful to already see neighbors helping each other. POST your other ideas or organizations that can help here!

Thank you Amber Howard Realty for the awesome information!!! Stay safe and be kind!

Also, Nedra from Adventure Mom shared great ways to volunteer locally for the sick!
