The Lion King

Speechless! That is the word that I can use to sum up the lion King performance that I witnessed last night. It was unlike any show I have ever been to. I wasn’t sure what to expect as this was the first time I have ever been, but it was spectacular!

The Lion King

From the minute the show started until the end it was breathtaking! It held close to the original movie which I loved because it was one of my favorites growing up as a child. The music was what was used in the movie and the singing was angelic. They also incorporated African music which was an amazing thing to be a part of and witness.

It was visually stunning, from the costumes to the backdrops, there was so much for the eye to see. I want to go back again just to take in everything that I missed!

The puppetry was outstanding and The actors were not only somber and serious when needed, but also playful and hilarious. Just to be able to see all of the animal costumes that come onto the stage during the opening act and the dancing made you feel like you were in a real life safari. I also loved in the second act where they incorporated a 3-D image of Simba‘s father which was a huge surprise.

I took my boys who are 10 and 8 and they both sat through the show easily. There was so much for them to see and watch, including the musicians who were in the box seats playing on bongos and other instruments. I would recommend grabbing the green cushions which allow them to sit up higher and have a better view of the stage, but overall I think this is a great show for all ages.

If you have been hesitating on buying tickets, I would not think twice! It was truly magical! I would love to know if you have been and at what venues. I can’t stop thinking about it!!! What an amazing experience!

I was hosted by Broadway in Cincinnati so I could share my experience with my readers. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks for reading!
