I am sure we all can show our extreme gratitude for our Veterans. I am always thinking about how brave they must be to risk their lives for little old me and the rest of us every day. I wouldn’t have the courage myself to do that, but am SO thankful to those who do!
Today, there are 21.2 million U.S. veterans and 1.5 million veterans have a vision-threatening eye disease. Many have low vision and 160,000 are legally blind. Not only can we have vision issues as we age, but Veterans can be at an increased risk for eye injury as a result of their time in combat. I am working with VSP Vision Care, who are on a mission to help people see!!! I couldn’t imagine losing my sight and I would love to help in any way that I can, especially if it means giving back to the Veterans who have so selflessly given to me and my family.
VSP Vision Care, created “Vision to Share” to change the life of a veteran through America’s VetDogs. With your help, VSP will donate $50,000 to train and match a guide dog with a veteran whose vision is impaired.

America’s Vet Dogs provide highly trained guide dogs to help veterans lead active, independent lives. It costs $50,000 to raise and train each dog, given to the veteran at no cost.
- Puppies are trained from birth for two years.
- America’s VetDogs matches each dog’s skills and personality to the disabled veteran’s needs.
- Dogs typically work with the veteran until they are 10 years old.
- Retired dogs are adopted so they live long and full lives!
