Back to School Events: Keeping it Healthy!

Back to school is quickly approaching and with that comes chaos, less time and lots of running! We all have stressors with back to school and many of those stresses come with trying to keep our families healthy while ON THE GO 24-7!! We have a few events for those of you needing a little inspiration :)

St. Elizabeth has decided to put together a few health and wellness events that focus on the family and how life does change when the kiddos are back in school! I love that they are teaching families ways to stay healthy even when the hustle and bustle begins with the start of school!

Wellness By the Book”: series is Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m.

Presenters and topics will include:

*Beth Taschuk, R.D., Registered Licensed Dietician with St. Elizabeth Weight Management Center focusing on kid-friendly nutrition;
*Kelly Clasgens, MS, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with St. Elizabeth Employee Assistance Program discussing parenting tips for back to school;
*Damara Lackmeyer, Pt, MPT, CLT-LANA, Physical Therapist with St. Elizabeth Rehabilitation Services talking about backpack safety;
*Barb Mackie, MA, CCC-A, Audiologist with St. Elizabeth Rehabilitation Services focusing on hearing screenings for back to school;
*Anne Hahnel, Ms, CCC-SLP, Speech Language Pathologist with St. Elizabeth Rehabilitation Services discussing detecting early signs of learning disabilities

“A Taste of Health” event is Saturday, Aug. 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Remke bigg’s Crescent Springs/Buttermilk location. Remke-bigg’s Chef Larry Anderson will be making Lip-smacking Granola for breakfast parfaits as well as Grilled Pizza Extraordinaire.  A St. Elizabeth professional will talk about how families can be healthy while on the go, because it can be difficult, especially as school starts back up.
