Fun Easter Ideas

by Jennie on April 9, 2012

We had a GREAT Easter weekend! We had tons of fun celebrating and now I am ready for a really, really long nap!!!! I am exhausted!

Friday was my birthday so a friend came over and brought me lunch, the kids played outside while we sat in the sun (did I mention I love this weather)?! We got take out that night so mama didn’t have to cook :)

Saturday we had this amazing Easter festival right outside our front door. We live in a culdesac and so they shut down our street and a local church (the owners are our neighbors) threw an Easter festival. They had a petting zoo, bounce house, games, easter egg hunt, crafts, music and food. Cody held a bunny which he LOVED (I was a little nervous at first, but he was really gentle with him and it was super cute seeing him with it), and got to feed the goats which he really got a kick out of. They had little chicks and donkeys, along with other animals. It was a beautiful day and SO much fun (especially since it was right in the neighborhood)!

Can’t get any better then having an Easter Festival in your front yard!

After the party was over, Cody opened up his basket from Nana and Papa and then we had our Easter brunch. Then we colored Easter eggs… we Steve and Cody did while I layed on the couch with Grayson. I WAS BEAT! Steve took me to dinner that night for my birthday and surprised me with Dave Matthews Concert tickets!!!! I cannot WAIT to go!! I have been begging him for years to take me to a concert. Thank you honey :) I am sure you really got tired of hearing me nag!

Grayson loving on his Papa and Cody have some Easter fun

The Easter bunny always leaves a trail of eggs with clues that leads to the kids baskets. Cody really got into it this year, running from place to place for the next clue. He was excited going through his basket (and his brothers!) and then he remembered his magic jelly beans…. the morning before he found a note from the Easter bunny with an egg filled with jelly beans. The note said “Plant these magic jelly beans in your yard and when you wake up Easter morning you will find a special surprise! Love, the Easter bunny”. So, he ran outside to the place he planted them and found a huge egg sucker that grew from the magic jelly beans. He was THRILLED. It was SO cute!! After church, we made our annual Easter bunny cake and then headed to the family’s house for another easter egg hunt and dinner.

Today we are all worn out, but no rest for weary… we are headed to the zoo. Does the fun ever stop when you have kids… or should I say EXHAUSTION?! How was your holiday???!!!!
