Save Money on the Learning Tower

by Jennie on April 4, 2011

When we first started the blog mama Tricia of “Take 10 with Tricia“, sent us info on this contraption called The Learning Tower! I liked the concept, but thought it was a little pricey. Once Cody got a little bigger we started cooking more together in the kitchen. We try making as much from scratch stuff and it is a way for Cody and I to have fun together, for me to teach him a few things and get my cooking done for the day!! We tried stools, the chair etc. and all fell short of the safety factor!! SO- I revisited Little Partners Learning Tower because it didn’t seem so pricey anymore :) A girlfriend of mine found a used one on craiglist for $60!! Then someone I knew was selling theirs for $100!! What did I do?? YUP! Called Nana (grandma) up and asked “pretty please… can Cody get this from you for Christmas?!!!” That was that! I have been in LOVE ever since!! When we are home for the day, he spends 80% of the day in the Learning Tower. We use it for cooking of course! Every morning, we wake up, change diaper, and go to the kitchen for breakfast. He climbs in his Learning Tower and watches me get his breakfast together. He stands in it and helps we wash all the fruit and veggies and helps me unload the grocery bags! I pull it up to the sink to let him wash his hands which is SO much easier than holding him up to the sink while he does it! Overall, he can get in the Learning Tower and be at my level and see everything I can see, help and it is super safe at the same time!! I really don’t know what I would do without it!  Read our previous post to get step by steps on how it really works.

Nana sent us home with leftover cookie decor. Kept him busy FOREVER!!

SO… not in the market to spend a bunch of money on the Learning Tower but would love one of your own?? Mama Tiff sent us this great email on a site she found where this woman has laid out step by step instructions how to DIY!!! LOVE IT! Ask daddy or grandpa to make it as a gift or maybe you are just handy yourself- go on girls you can do it :) I love that this site has thoroughly explained how she did it!! I can’t vouch for the safety of this product, but it looks like a great alternative!!

Just be CAREFUL around the hot stove :)

Does anyone use a Learning Tower? Do you know of other places you can get it on the cheap??!

YAY! Still loving the Learning Tower at our house. Now both girls are in it daily. And happy to say, there is plenty of room for the two of them and I think Henry will fit as well at some point. I love that it gets them more involved in the kitchen.

I have been wanting a Learning Tower for what seems like forever. Once I put a WTB ad on Craigslist and got a couple responses like a month later, but buy the time I got those responses, I no longer had the money to spare to buy one. The best Deal I have seen for a new one was $160 on drugstore.com using a 20% coupon code. I'm hoping that deal comes around again. I really am hoping to buy one of these when we get our tax refund. Penny uses a step stool right now, and it works, but as you said, not exactly the safest thing ever. I babysat a kid that had a Learning Tower and her and Penny both fit in it well and had a blast. I don't see me or my DH building one anytime soon though…

I see this is an old post, but I am trying to sell our Learning Tower. I would like to get around $100 for it. It is 100% perfect condition. Not sure how much it would cost to ship, but if anyone knows someone who is interested, I would love to hear from you! My email address is cwheels77@yahoo.com
