Krohn Conservatory

If you live in the Cincinnati area an awesome place to visit is the Krohn Conservatory!! My younger brother and sister were off school a few weeks ago and I wanted to find something fun for us to do that didn’t cost a lot. I was happy to find the Conservatory was open 365 days a year and it costs…. NOTHING!!! The hubs said, “the kids won’t like it… it’s boring”. Boy was he wrong! I had a 16 year old, an 11 year old and an almost two year old. They all LOVED it!

The Krohn Conservatory is a greenhouse that has several different rooms. Two of the larger rooms have tons of exotics plants and flowers, little streams with fish and a beautiful waterfall. Another room is filled with bonsai trees which I really thought was cool and so did the kiddos! One of the rooms was filled with several fruit trees which the kids loved trying to guess what was what (some were questionable!!) and they loved smelling the different fruit as well. One of the smaller rooms was full of the most fragrant flowers and oh so beautiful! The last room had many cacti (cactus?!) and they were sharp so beware :)

Overall, the kids had a great time and we were there for about an hour. It turned into a little educational excursion as well for all of them which was really cool. Now that I have Cody I am trying to venture out and find the fun things in the city to explore. It is neat to find the gems in your area that you never knew were there! What are your favorite places to go in your city??

Don’t forget to check out our Family Fun which has some other great ideas and websites to encourage family fun!! Send us an email if you have anything to add to the list!

We love Krohn and particularly make sure to visit during the Butterfly exhibit and the Christmas season. It's been a family tradition for us for years!
