Great finds for the busy MOM

by Jennie on June 14, 2012

Since having kids, my life just seems to get busier and busier. I am always looking for new things that can help cut my time of doing tasks in half so that I can spend more fun time with my boys! I have 2 new things I have been trying out lately that I LOVE, has helped me with the craziness of life and wanted to share them with you!

LightArrow, LifeTopix

Apps are a wonderful thing! I love finding new apps for my iPad that help with efficiency. I am always ;trying new things that ; ;may help me to be a bit more organized. This app is IT! I have been SOOOOOO impressed with this app I cannot even tell you. This is literally the only app you will need to keep everything organized. LightArrow has thought of it ALL! I am always making lists upon lists and I can create and share as many lists as my crazy brain needs. Within each list I can categorize, take video or photos that will stay within that list. I can create a task/ project list, with dates and times, repeat it, add descriptions ;etc. and ;it syncs automatically with my apple calendar! What I love MOST about these two areas alone is that anything I add I can share via FB, twitter, email etc. so if I need the hubs to see the to-do list for the house, I can send it to him. If I need to send Kim a note about the blog, I can do that too. This is just the tip of the iceberg! ;All categories included in the app:

  1. Tasks & Projects
  2. Notes and Files
  3. Shopping
  4. Events: include birthdays, weddings, appointments and all other events going on in that busy life of yours
  5. Travel and Places: I used this to help plan our Florida trip that is coming up soon :)
  6. Health and Activity: This is AMAZING! It includes activity, nutrition (which is great for my Weight Watchers), Medication (which would be wonderful if you have a family member that takes a lot of meds) and Wellness logs. You can also add all your health care providers information in one area so you have it with you at all times.
  7. People and Services (haven’t used this yet)
  8. Finances: You can add all your accounts, expenses, charitable donations etc. I am loving this because I can keep track of our finances and my grandparents finances (which I just recently took over) all in one place. You can even add when all your payments are due in your payment calendar!
  9. Home and Assets
  10. Education
  11. Media: (photos/videos etc.)
  12. Bookmarks: I love this one because there are so many great sites I like to hold onto and I hate cluttering up my google bar so this keeps everything in the app, but easily accessible.

As you can see there is a TON you can do with this! You can check out their facebook page to get tips on how to optimize your app. They also have a very extensive help section to answer any other questions. The best part is that there are 2 back up features so you don’t lose that precious information! You can also sync it with your other devices so you always have what you need at a click of a button!!! Gotta love things like this that make being a mom a ;little less stressful! You can get the app for $4.99, but for the month of June they are offering it for 0.99 cents.!!! I will also be asking an organizing question in the morning and the first 5 people to leave a comment will get the app for FREE!

BabbaCo

How many times do you wish you had a craft on hand for the kids ready to go? We love doing crafts at the house, but I am not a super crafty person, nor am I great about planning ahead for a craft project. I saw the BabbaCo on Eversave one day and I HAD to have it! It is a company that puts together a box of crafts a month and sends it to your door! Being a mom of 2, there is nothing better than having something delivered because it means that I don’t have to drag the 3 of us out to get it!

Each month is a different theme and it includes a few crafts, a book, and free downloads! This months theme was sun, moon and stars. Look at this Gratitude box they did one month! They included SO much educational information on top of the crafts! We are in the middle of making (it is a few day project) a moon that lights up (!) and then we will work on our constellation frame! Those are just a few of the things that came in the box! They even sent little binoculars for Cody to explore the stars and chart them! He is loving that he has fun crafts and I am loving that it is delivered right to my door! The boxes are aimed to be for 3-6 year olds and I highly recommend this if you have kids in that age range! It doesn’t get much better than door to door delivery! They are doing a drawing for a free annual membership if you enter your email address on their website!

I am checking out that app as soon as I get home from my convention!!

I have been using the NOTES app on my iPad, but I am very interested in what this app can do.

Now if I just could get over my love of blackberry keys and switch to the iPhone…

:)
