One of the things I love about having a blog is being able to try out new things I didn’t know I needed!! We are an on- the- go family and I always have our travel blanket in the car. It comes in handy with sports games, impromptu picnics or other fun little adventures. We have used it for years and I have loved it, but as the boys have gotten older and park playdates turn into long hiking excursions, I can’t take our portable blanket with us because it’s just too bulky.
When I was contacted by Monkey Mat to try one of their travel mats I didn’t really think I needed one until I realized how much SMALLER their blanket was compared to the one I currently have. I knew it would come in handy on our hiking trips and even our upcoming camping trip and it will just make it easier to have one less thing to carry!
As you can see from the picture, it really is SO much smaller than the blanket I have. I can throw it in any bag I have or use the buckle to attach it to my belt loop if need be. With my big blanket, we would throw our drinks or bags on each end to keep the wind from blowing it around, but the Monkey Mat has weighted ends so no more blowing away! There are also little loops in the center of the mat to attach toys for the littles. It is water repellant and also machine washable. It is very thin so it doesn’t have any cushion to it where as my other one does. With that being said, I would much rather have my compact little Monkey Mat vs. a plush, much larger travel blanket to take on the go for all of our fun little family adventures!
