Broadway in Cincinnati: Cinderella

Broadway Cinderella

Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella is playing now at the Aronoff through January 18th! Steve and Cody had the opportunity to see the show last night, Opening night! Not only is it important to expose our kids to the Arts, but there is nothing like experiencing a show at the Aronoff. I remember going every year with my mom to see The Nutcracker. Through my eyes, it was this huge, vast arena with amazing music, fancy lights and beautiful curtains. I loved getting dressed up and ordering a shirley temple at the concessions. I will never forget those memories we created. It was so special to me and that is why I love that my boys have been able to have those same experiences. We are so lucky to have such an array of venues at our fingertips, here in Cincy. You could see something different every day of the week!

Cinderella

Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella is the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical from the creators of Oklahoma! and The King and I that’s delighting audiences with its contemporary take on the classic tale. This lush production features an incredible orchestra, jaw-dropping transformations and all the moments you love — the pumpkin, the glass slipper, the masked ball and more — plus some surprising new twists! Be transported back to your childhood as you rediscover some of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most beloved songs, including ‘In My Own Little Corner’, ‘Impossible/It’s Possible’ and ‘Ten Minutes Ago’, in this hilarious and romantic Broadway experience for anyone who’s ever had a wish, a dream…or a really great pair of shoes.

Cody loved the “cool horse” and the heroic Prince. He said the music was “awesome” too.  His favorite part was when the pumpkin magically turned into a carriage on stage. Steve said he was clapping so loud and was so excited he actually had to quiet him down after everyone else had stopped clapping. How cute is that?! He loved having special time with daddy and they make it easy for your kids to have a great seat no matter. They provide big cushions upon entry so the kids can use them to sit higher up in their seats and see over the taller guests :)

Cinderella

Cinderella is one of those age-old fairy tales that we all remember reading and watching as we grew up. I was so bummed to have missed it, but with being so close to my due date and have lots of Braxton Hicks Contractions, I sent my boys instead. This would be a great show for the entire family! You can purchase tickets at Broadway in Cincinnati and check out more pictures from the show.
