Firefly Ready Go Toothbrush

by MHSjennie on October 16, 2013

We all know how important it is to make sure our kids brush their teeth every day!! I have shared in the past about Cody’s first experience at the Dentist and that is the place where you can’t hide what your kids have or have not been doing to their teeth. One of the things they give you when you leave our dentist is  timer so the kids know how long to brush. We have been able to review these really cool and FUN Firefly Toothbrushes which has the “timer” built into the toothbrush!

It features colors and mimics the cycle of a traditional traffic light to let your kids know how long they need to brush each row of teeth, which is 60 seconds per row of teeth,  to be effective against cavities. For the first 30 seconds the light flashes green for “go”. Then, the light changes to yellow to signal the brushing is halfway over. When the red light comes on, they know to stop brushing… time for the next row of teeth! I love this because I don’t have to nag Cody about how long he needs to be brushing. He can brush independently and follow along with the lights so HE knows when it is time to stop. My boys love it because of the cool suction cup on the bottom of the brush so they can “stick” it to the counter when they are done! The toothbrush is inexpensive, priced at $3.99 and they come in a fun choice of characters so your kids can pick their fav!

I am always happy when I can find things that are fun for my kids, but also teaches them a lesson and this cute little toothbrush does just that!

Here’s a quick video of Kim’s kiddos using their toothbrushes and Luke telling you all about how the toothbrush works! They have been a big hit for all the kids…even little Emma loves the lights and you can’t get them started brushing too early! These would make for a fun and cute stocking stuffer if you’re looking for practical gifts for the kids!
