Ensemble Theatre Presents Cinderella

by MHSjennie on December 1, 2015

What do you get when you combine a nearsighted bookworm heroine, two fabulously self-absorbed stepsisters, one devilishly diva stepmother, along with a self-empowering Well-Wisher? A fun spin on the classic fairy tale, Cinderella, that demonstrates being smart is true beauty! When the King pressures his romantically challenged son, the prince, to choose a bride from hundreds of “applicants,” a cross-country tour of the kingdom ensues to reunite a missing sneaker—yes a sneaker!—with its rightful owner. From the creators of Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, this enchanted and heart-warming musical will delight audiences of all ages this holiday season.

Ensemble Theatre Cinderella

This is the second performance that I have seen at the Ensemble Theatre and what I love most about their shows is that they take these classic fairytales and put a modern spin on it. It is a smaller theater and they use that to their advantage because there is truly not a bad seat in the house! It is theater style seating so even the littles will be able to see over adults who are in front of them. The acting is fantastic and this show literally had me laughing out loud! They offer a show that the kids will love, with wonderful singing, dancing and costumes and then have this witty and hysterical comedy for the adults. It truly is a show for the entire family!

The two step sisters were my absolute FAVORITE! They were crazy talented and SO funny!

Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati will be playing Cinderella beginning December 3, 2015 through January 4, 2016. They offer a convenient show calendar for families with many weekend matinees, early 6:00 pm Sunday evening shows, and 7:00 pm evening shows throughout the holiday season. “Cinderella sends a message that inner beauty, strength, and intelligence are the keys to success,” says ETC’s Producing Artistic Director D. Lynn Meyers. “Our 30th anniversary season is all about celebrating what is unique about ETC and David Kisor and Joe McDonough’s collaboration on this musical does just that. My hope is that everyone who comes to see Cinderella will leave feeling like princes and princesses.” You can see a complete calendar of performances online at Ensemble Cincinnati.
