Renaissance Festival

We have never been to the Renaissance Festival and we had a FAB time checking it out this year. First of all, I didn’t realize how HUGE this festival was. You could be there for an entire weekend and still not be able to see everything they have to offer. I think my favorite part was watching the shows. They actually feature over 100 shows daily on 11 stages so you can take your pick with what you want to see. Some are geared more towards adults, but many of the shows are family friendly. We saw the Robin Hood Show, a Magician, The Pirate Show and The Jousting Match.

The shows were AWESOME, but I will say that come 1:00, the crowds started rolling in so don’t think you can show up at the show time listed on your map and get a good seat. You need to plan ahead, especially for the Joust Match, which was AMAZING! It was the real deal and super cool to see in person!

In addition to the shows there is so much yummy food so come hungry and hundreds of vendors with very unique and handmade items for purchase. Over 140 master artisans and craftsmen come from all over the country to demonstrate the lost art of their crafts and they must meet specific criteria in keeping with the Renaissance time period. We all loved watching this glassblower hard at work on his next creation!

The other really cool thing about the festival is they have TONS of kids rides, but they aren’t like your average ride. They actually are all man powered, not electrically powered!! You can see a list of all of their kids rides and games on their website. Unfortunately, we didn’t even have time to get to the rides since there was so many other things to do.

Overall, we had the best time! It was so interesting seeing all the people dressed up in their Ren Gear. There were also fairies, and pirates and many other characters in role so it is a lot of fun for the kiddos to see. I honestly can’t believe it has taken us so long to go since it isn’t to far from where we live. If you have never been, it is definitely something you need to take the family to and check out!

I was given complimentary tickets for my family to attend so I could share my experience with you. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks for reading!
