I am an ambassador for US Family Guide and when they offered me a Soccer Camp this summer I jumped at the opportunity. Both of my boys are playing fall soccer and I thought a Soccer Camp before the season would get them ready to play. I ended up just signing up Cody as Grayson had no interest.

I have to preface this with a disclaimer- I am NOT a sports mama. I didn’t play sports myself and so I am not really into an sport in particular. I would have not signed up for this on my own, but boy am I glad we did it!

British Soccer Camp

Challenger Sports is one of a kind! They have a full time recruitment and training program in the UK, and thousands of qualified candidates to choose from, Challenger only recruits the most talented and enthusiastic coaches who have a genuine interest in providing your players with a memorable and positive experience! I saw this first hand with our coaches Alex and Jack. They always said to me it was “their privilege” to teach Cody and you could see their enthusiastic spirit for the game and their love of kids in the personality and happy demeanors.

I was able to see the difference in Cody and the skills he gained over the week from a professional coach. Don’t get me wrong, I love our parent volunteers at Mason SAY, but these coaches knew their stuff and they taught in a way that was fun, but also organized and professional. Cody has not been into sports too much and I was amazed at how his confidence grew and the techniques he was showing me that he learned day after day. He was excited for the next day of camp and couldn’t wait to go back. He was able to take the camp with his friend, Austin, and they were 2 of 5 total kids so they were truly getting 1 on 1 coaching. Overall, I would  do it again, even if I had to pay my way next time! It was SO worth it!

Here are some of the DAILY PRACTICES your child will be learning:

Soccer ABC’s. Players will improve their Agility, Balance and Coordination through a series of individual ball mastery exercises. Each player will be able to work at their own pace and measure their own improvement throughout the week.

Freestyle. Challenger has partnered with World Freestyle Champion John Farnworth to create a daily program of juggling, lifts and balances that will help players improve their touch, control and will help them develop more confidence with the ball.

Moves. Throughout the week, each player will learn, practice and master more than 20 different ways to turn, fake and beat opponents. Challenger has broken down each move into easy to learn steps and will help even the most novice player master some of the most complicated fakes and turns.

You can learn more about this program on their website. They also offer early bird registration where you can get FREEBIE such as a British Soccer T-shirt, soccer ball and water bottle. We even lucked out on these adorable (or should I say handsome!) British Soccer Jersey’s for only $5 (pictured above). I would highly recommend this camp and I will definitely enroll Cody in it next summer!

I was given a free soccer camp by US Family Guide, however all opinions are my own! Thanks for reading!

Letting kids join a sports camp, soccer or whatever sport they like, can help them develop their skills and character. It's how my brother started playing soccer and ended up in their school's varsity team.
