S’Mores Dip Recipe

by MHSjennie on July 8, 2015

You all know how much my family and I LOVE S’Mores! We love having fires in our backyard and at our place in cumberland and with that comes the S’Mores! It just doesn’t seem right to have a fire without them :)

There have been times it has rained when we planned on having a fire and my boys were SO disappointed we can’t have our S’Mores so I went to my good friend google and found a way to bring the S’Mores indoor!

Our first google find, attempt and fail was microwave S’Mores. It looked like a S’More, but the marshmallow was way to chewy- FAIL.

Our second google find was a S’Mores Dip. I made it for a big group in Cumberland and it was hands down AMAZING! I actually preferred it over a regular S’More! Even better, it was super easy to make which is my kind of dessert :)

S'Mores Dip

Ingredients

  • graham crackers
  • 1 -2 cups of chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet, but you can use your fav!)
  • 10-15 jumbo marshmallows, cut in half (I used scissors and they came apart easily)
  • 1 pad of butter

Directions

  • Place your skillet in the oven. Preheat your oven to 450 and let your pan heat up inside.
  • Put your butter in the skillet and let it melt. Dump in your chocolate chips and then evenly place your marshmallows on top.
  • Bake for 5-7 minutes, until marshmallows are toasted to your liking (no more campfire flaming burnt marshmallows)!
  • Serve immediately with graham crackers.

I scooped servings onto individual plates for the kids since the pan was so hot. You could also change up the chocolate each time, use reese pieces, reese cups or even peanut butter chips to have a different S’Mores each and every time! This is a much safer way to have S’Mores with the younger children than roasting marshmallows over an open fire. They can still feel like they are getting the S’Mores without the huge flame!

This was given a thumbs up by everyone and I have been craving the chocolatey gooey goodness ever since! Modify your ingredients based off the size of pan being used. Use a large skillet for a big crowd or a small one for a fun family dessert. ENJOY!
