Taste of Mexico at Kroger

by MHSjennie on June 18, 2014

If you have stopped by a Kroger store recently, you have probably been able to taste some samples with Mexican flair. I love the music and fun Kroger has been having with the Taste of Mexico! This is the first of their Savor World Flavor series, which is happening right now at your local Kroger store! They are bringing this series to inspire their customers to try authentic Mexican cuisine! As you shop, you will be offered food samples, cooking demos, Mexican music and more from now until June 24.

I think we all get in the cooking rut, where we make the same thing over and over again and I love that Kroger is stepping up the game of cooking and pushing us to try different foods we wouldn’t typically cook in our home.

You can see a list of the food items that will be stocked at your local Kroger. There are some great recipes on their website, Experience Savor World Flavor  to get your mind thinking of what you can create in your kitchen!

We LOVE avocados in our house so I knew the first thing on my list was to make some guacamole. I found an easy and tasty recipe on their website. I cut the recipe in half and left out the onion and jalapeño pepper. I blended all of mine in my Vitamix, but you can just as easily slice and dice and mix together for a different texture. Add a jar of salsa and chips and you have a tasty appetizer or snack for the fam.

I also made an easy Crockpot Chicken Salsa dish:

  • 3 Chicken Breasts
  • 1 jar of Private Selection Salsa
  • 1 bag of shredded Mexican style cheese

Add your chicken breasts and jar of salsa to your crockpot and let it cook for 6 hours. Take it out and throw your cheese on top to melt. Super tasty and EASY which is what mama is always looking for… the EASY button!

It’s time to create some new and exciting dishes in your home, Mexican style! Be sure to get entered into the Taste of Mexico game for some great prizes, like a trip to Mexico!

I was provided  free food and other non-perishable items to experience The Taste of Mexico with my family. However, all ideas and opinions are my own! You can read more about my Disclosure & Disclaimer Policy here. Feel free to contact me with any questions! Thanks for reading!
