Check out Kids Classes at the Cincinnati Zoo

I have written in the past about my LOVE for the ZOO!! I have so many fond memories of going as a kid and I have so much fun taking the boys! I recently signed Cody up for one of the Zoo classes and had to share!!

The zoo offers lots of educational classes through field trips, scout programs, family and child classes. I signed him up for the youth program class that is designed specifically for his age group. What I LOVED about this:

• The BEST part is the price! It is $11 for members and only $15 for non members. What is SO totally awesome about this is that we don’t have passes, we always go with friends for free so for the $15, your entire immediate family gets entry into the zoo and that includes parking so you can spend the entire day with your family at the zoo AND do a class for $15!! That is a dealio!
• They give you a special entry code to get into the parking near the education building so no lugging your stroller and kids across the big parking lot, up the elevator and across the bridge. You park and the doors are right there!
• You can bring younger siblings to the class. This is hard to find so I appreciate that I can bring Grayson with us and he can enjoy the class too!
• You have the option to drop them off. The class is only an hour, but if you wanted an hour to yourself, you could find a table and curl up with a book while your child is in class.

How is the class set up? They come and have a lesson about the theme. We learned about animals who eat leaves and animals that use leaves to camouflage themselves. Then you do a hike around the zoo to see examples of animals that coincide with the lesson. You then go back to the classroom and you get to see and pet a few live animals (we had a hissing cockroach and a BIG ole snake)! Lastly, you do a craft that goes along with the lesson!

Overall, it was SO worth the money! Even if you were just going for the class, $15 is not bad for all that you get to do. If you have the time, you can really get your moneys worth and head to the zoo after!

We thought we were going to be rained out, but it held off for us and we were able to spend the whole day exploring after class!

How cute are these snake crafts? They went out and collected leaves, then glued them to the inside of the cut out snake! You could easily do this for any animal or shape for a fun and easy craft!
