I have been trying out different calendar methods and they all kept falling short. I am one of those that has to have a tangible calendar so that I can look at our month and as a whole, but I also like to have a virtual calendar as well for when we are on the go.
I would love to have an iPhone because I could sync my iPad with it, but I get my current phone and plan for free through hubby’s work so I doubt that will happen unless they change providers. My iPad calendar is what I use as my main calendar, but then I would be out with just my phone and not be able to make appts etc. because I didn’t have my iPad calendar. Needless to say, my system wasn’t working.
I read somewhere about Cozi and what a popular family calendar app it is so I thought I would give it a try. I LOVE IT!!! You can download it on any device you have and they all sync with each other. I download it to my phone, my iPad and Steve’s phone so we both have access to it. If you have older kids with phones, you could put it on theirs as well.
All the things I love about it:
- The whole family can log in with a shared family password and see what each individual has going on so you don’t have to worry about scheduling conflicts!
- Each person is color coded so you can keep it organized!
- You can set reminders for any scheduled event and it will text you with the alert. I can even add something and have it send directly to Steve so he knows of an important event that was just scheduled!
- The app also includes a To Do list, Shopping List (which you can add multiple stores so you can keep track of what you need from where!) and a Journal so everyone can add their grocery needs etc and it all goes to one place!
I am hoping this keeps me more organized as the kids get older and things get busier with school and sporting events. The only drawback is that you can’t see the entire month in one view :( You have to upgrade to the plus app which is $5 a month….not sure that I need to do that at this point.
My plan is to log everything into my Cozi calendar and then transfer the events to my wall calendar at the beginning of each month (stay tuned as I will be sharing my “command center” makeover soon!). I will keep you posted on how it goes.
I would love to hear how you keep your scheduled events organized! What type of calendar system do you use?Pin It
