While my little 4 month old baby girl does not have flat head syndrome, it’s easy to see why this affects nearly 1 in 2 babies. Emma sleeps all night on her back, in between tummy time she loves to sit in her bouncer and more recently in her high chair. We are constantly on the go, which means she’s in her car seat too! There’s so much opportunity for babies to get flat head syndrome and now there’s a fantastic preventative called The Tortle. We use it and love it! It’s a $20 hat that is recommended for all newborns with a small beanie wedge on the side that’s easy to rotate from side to side to help prevent flat head syndrome. Every Mom wants to protect that sweet head, now you can with a hat and it will be the best $20 you’ve ever spent. Check out the website for even more info on The Tortle!
This is a great reminder to parents to make sure your babies get plenty of tummy time during the day, at least 30 minutes a day is recommended. If you are local to Cincinnati you can take one of the great tummy time classes at Blue Cocoon – they are fantastic! And of course you can purchase your tortle hat online or locally at Little Lords and Ladies Boutique.
