And for anyone who’s noticed, my posts this week are a little off from my usual routine of writing and publishing them. The last three nights with Emma have been terrible. She hasn’t slept very much at all and it’s pretty unlike her. I actually think it’s something I’m eating that’s bothering her and just realized the only thing in common that I’ve been eating every evening (before her 10pm feed) has been the most delicious Columbian Coffee Ice Cream. Delicious for me, apparently not so delicious for her. So I’m keeping a mental note of everything I’m eating and will start cutting things out to see if it makes a difference in hopes to have my dreamy sleepy baby back at night! So this means that my mornings have been fairly delirious until I figure out what’s going on with her and I usually have something planned with Luke in the afternoon so I don’t make it home and able to write my usual post and catch up on emails until early evening. Here’s hoping I can get back to my usual routine soon! I’ve been playing phone tag with everyone for days! Ugh!
And on another note I have to share a funny from Luke today. We were sitting in Target and as I was nursing Emma Luke sat across the table from me in a very serious tone said:
Luke: Mommy, does that tickle?
Me: Does what tickle?
Luke: When Emma takes a drink, does that tickle you?
Me: (trying to keep a straight face) Nope, it doesn’t tickle.
Luke: (giggles) I think it would tickle!
Oh boy these kids…! Too cute, the stuff they come up with! This has been the first thing he’s mentioned about me breastfeeding Emma. He’s not said a thing and I don’t hide anything when we’re at home, he’s taken no notice and I think that’s just because we’re natural about it so it’s not been a big deal for him to see.

Cute!
I love this conversation. I was questioned by my nephew when I nursed my first baby. He was six and she was 2 months at the time. He asked me if it hurt when she ate me! :-) He is a literal child so I explained to him about a few other mammals that feed their babies the same way. (He got it….the other adults in the room, however were so very very uncomfortable. But he and I were good).
Don't you just love it?! My son also asked me if it hurt when I was feeding his brother. So cute that they are interested in how things affect their mama!
