Happy Halloween!

by Kimberly on October 31, 2012

This time of year is always so exciting for kids – all that CANDY! We never really have any candy in the house so lately it’s been a little overwhelming for all of us. Even Luke has a stash of half eaten chocolate in the fridge that he’s completely forgotten about so…it’s going in the trash! Since we live in a small neighborhood last year Jennie invited us to Trick or Treat with them and we had a lot of fun! This year we did our local “Trunk or Treat” again and it was perfect for us, Luke had fun and we didn’t get an extreme amount of candy. I decided this year to hang low and have dinner with the Grandparents since it feels like we’ve already done a few other Halloween events already. It wouldn’t be fun having Emma out in the cold either and hopefully it won’t rain for all the kids (and parents!) this year!

….and how true it is about her Daddy!

I haven’t had a chance yet to post about last weekend’s events but we said goodbye to Luke’s Grandma from London on Monday. She was here for 3 weeks and it was great having her here to play with Luke. We also went to Blue Cocoon’s 1 Year Anniversary event on Saturday and loved the Tummy Time class! We hope they will start another session soon so I can go with Emma. We also saw Dr. Kim, my Chiropractor and we were SO grateful she was there because just as we were getting ready to leave my neck went out on me and I could hardly move. It was so painful…thank goodness for Dr. Kim! I owe a BIG thank you to all the ladies there who helped me. At one point I was worried Jennie would have to help me nurse Emma….latch her on for me that is! I couldn’t move my left arm and I couldn’t look down. Thankfully Lora helped rock Emma to sleep long enough to buy me some time to ease my neck!

So this was me just before I was able to nurse Emma. Pillows, ice on my neck and all! Talk about awkward! Since then, my neck is feeling much better! And speaking of Blue Cocoon, check out these awesome nursing pads she has now in stock…

I’ve been using them all week and love them! If they get wet they dry in 30 mins!

And finally, if you know someone who has been affected on the East Coast by the terrible storm, email us at JennieandKim(at)gmail(dot)com and let us know how we can help!

Happy Halloween everyone! Be sure to post pictures of your little ones on our FB page! We’d love to see their costumes!

Our plans are the same for this evening. Lay low. This weather is killing me! I can’t get warm!

You need to head over to Costco and get one of those heated throws for only $30!! My Mom has one and it gets SO warm and comfy, I love it. I need to get one for myself! :) I'm constantly asking Julian to put a fire in the fireplace and spent all afternoon yesterday cuddling with Emma next to the fire! -Kim

We will miss you guys, but have fun! A bunch of us are meeting at my neighbors for dinner and then all the kids and us (!) will head out for Trick-or-Treating! Thankfully, both my boys have REALLY warm costumes! A friend has a GREAT way to keep the candy down that we are doing this year, as we have been to events all month (our local trunk-or-treat was tons of fun too!) with candy! Let each child pick out X amount of candy pieces (we picked 10). Then they donate the rest to church or a charity. Cuts down on the candy AND teaches them about giving back! Win-Win! -Jen

He is a spider like Cody was for his first year! Back turtle neck and sweatpants, and then it has a big belly and legs and a cute hat! It is ADORABLE! :) Jenniehttp://www.motherhoodsupport.com/From: notifications@intensedebatemail.comTo: jenniewestrich@hotmail.comSubject: Surviving Motherhood – New comment on: Happy Halloween!
