One thing on my list was getting a swing. I had a small “travel” swing but Luke never used it and pretty much hated it. I think I used it a handful of times and I think a lot of it had to do with the style and comfort of the travel swing. It doesn’t even compare to the “luxury” swings out there! The other thing on my list was a new car seat because our car seat that we used with Luke was recalled about a year ago.
I had heard a lot from Jennie and other Moms about their love of the Graco Sweet Peace Infant Soothing Swing and was anxious to check it out. I have been pretty impressed at the quality of the swing and all the great features! So much so that it completely swayed me to purchase the Graco Snug Ride 35 Car Seat! One of the features of the swing is how you can take the chair out and use your car seat in the swing! So you don’t have to disturb baby if you want to move them from the car into the house. I remember when Cody was a baby he would immediately wake up once Jennie’s car stopped moving so this is a great option if you want to keep the baby asleep just a little longer!

Doesn’t it look super comfy?! You can adjust the recline of the seat as well!
Here’s all the options you can choose from – 6 different speeds, lots of different music and soothing sounds and I LOVE that there’s a parent lock because Luke is already infatuated with pushing all the buttons!
And yes, that’s a plug in for your ipod/iphone!
The other cord you see is for the power, you can plug it into the wall OR you can use batteries!
Here’s a picture of the Graco Snug Ride car seat we purchased
that snaps right into the base for the swing!
We got the car seat at Buy Buy Baby and if you don’t have a coupon, go up to the register and ask for them to text you a 20% OFF coupon! You’ll get it instantly and we saved about $30 on this car seat!
A few things to note if you’re looking for a swing…this swing is on the larger side so if you’re looking for something for a tight fitting space at home you might want to check out one of Graco’s other infant swings that look just as comfy! I put this swing together myself, being 8 months pregnant, and managed to do it in about 15 minutes without any problems. The directions were pretty easy and it pretty much snaps together quickly. It retails for: $169.99, which is comparable to other swings on the market. I will be sure to get more video and pictures once the baby arrives and will keep you posted on how we like it!
Did you use a swing and if so, which was your favorite?! They can be a little pricey BUT if it helps you get a nap in here and there it and helps to soothe a fussy baby it would be well worth the money!

We had the Sweet Peace and Snug Ride for E and I loved it. One bonus for us is that the swing kept the dogs from getting to close to her.
Loved this swing! And I love that the car seat fits too! How clever… A plug in swing is a must.
