What do those aches and pains really mean?

Over the weekend, I was looking forward to the informational meeting taking place at Blue Cocoon from Dr. Kim at Live Well Chiropractic Center located in Mason. She was there specifically to talk about Chiropractic care during pregnancy and with a few aches and pains I’ve had this pregnancy I was intrigued to talk with her.

I learned so much during our time together and will definitely be planning to go see her! She gave me lots of great tips for exercise during pregnancy and hints to prevent back ache but I also learned how important it is to practice preventative Chiropractic care for all of us. I had no idea how your body could be affected if you are out of alignment and having neck, back, etc. pains and aches. She also mentioned that she sees a lot of infants and children. Chiropractic care can really help an infant who can’t turn their head properly or perhaps might not be comfortable nursing on one side – it could mean that a gentle alignment could really help! I was amazed to hear her say other symptoms for kids can include continual ear infections and how Chiropractic care could really help those kids instead of resorting to surgical tubes.

For adults you’d be surprised how being out of alignment can have some serious implications such as digestion problems, headaches/migraines, fatigue, vertigo, stress, infertility, craving sweets, weight gain, IBS, lowered immune resistance to name just a few. Our spine protects the nervous system and remember…it’s all linked together! If we can really understand what’s going on in our body it’s easier to really treat the problem instead of the first resort being medication or even surgery. I love that this is what healthy Chiropractic care is all about and how important it is to practice proactive preventative care with the rest of our bodies – just like going to the Dentist. From what I understand it’s much easier and important to have regular monthly or yearly “check ups” to make sure everything is aligned as it should be so you don’t end up with a neck or back ache that turns into a much more serious problem for you.

She has so much great information and if you’re local you should make some time to stop by and see her. She’s great with kids and I’m hoping to get Julian and I booked in for a consultation sooner than later! Next week I’ll be checking out the prenatal yoga class at Blue Cocoon in Montgomery, they have so many great classes including Tummy Time and Mamarazzi Photo Workshops!
