Resurrection Cookies

by Kimberly on April 6, 2012

On my quest to find fun and meaningful ways to teach Luke about the real meaning of Easter I came across a few awesome ideas and crafts. I stumbled upon Motherhood on a Dime and was blown away with all the great Easter activities for kids!

She has a fun recipe for Resurrection Cookies – which is a cookie recipe you make with your kids to share the story of Jesus’ Resurrection. It’s a fun idea because when you open the cookie it’s empty inside representing the empty tomb, signifying that Jesus has Risen! I will say that this particular recipe (complete with scripture for each ingredient in the recipe) is best for older preschool and elementary age kids but if you’re looking for something for the younger kids try these Resurrection Rolls!

Motherhood on a Dime also has some fantastic food and crafts including an Easter Egg Fruit Pizza, Caterpillar to Butterfly Craft, Preschool Resurrection Eggs, Easy Homemade Soap for kids, Jelly bean poem baskets, plus more fun Easter Egg activities and games!

Luke and I are heading out today with my Dad for a long drive to Kansas to see family there for the next week. My Mom is going to see her 4 other grandkids and poor Julian is home with all the animals watching over the “farm”. So it seems we’re all going different directions! I wish I could trade places with Julian and stay home all week by myself being able to enjoy the peace and quiet and sleep without interruption and a “honey do list”. So I guess it’s not “poor guy” it’s really….”LUCKY GUY!” Ha!

Wherever and whatever your Easter plans are I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your family! Oh and don’t forget to leave a comment wishing Jennie a Happy Birthday – today is her birthday! Happy Birthday girl…have a margarita and celebrate! :)
