Green Monster Smoothie!

by Kimberly on February 10, 2012

For a while I’ve been wanting to try Jen’s green smoothie since she let me taste it and it was delicious! Then…one day roaming Pinterest I found another great Green Monster Smoothie that looked great as well and I was excited to try it because it had peanut butter and one of my favorite things is the peanut butter malt from UDF….HEAVEN! It’s one of my only weaknesses! Luke also loves peanut butter but the hubs is definitely not a fan. They don’t really do peanut butter in England so I don’t think it’s very popular to the Brits.

So in this Green Monster Smoothie are the following ingredients:

  • one frozen banana (thanks iowagirleats.com for the tip to slice and peel the bananas before putting them in the freezer!)
  • vanilla greek yogurt
  • 1-2 tbsp of peanut butter
  • 1 cup of milk
  • as much spinach as you can fit in the blender!

For the full list of instructions along with pictures check it out at Iowa Girl Eats! We give this smooth two thumbs up AND Luke loves it too! He can’t get enough of it because it tastes like a yummy peanut butter milkshake! This has been a great way for us to start our day or we’ve had it as an afternoon snack when we have the munchies! I will say that I did try this out in my food processor and for me it didn’t work that well, still leaving it too “bitty” for me to drink so I tried it again in my blender and it was the perfect consistency!

Luke drinks this down in about 2 minutes! I love that it tastes great and is so good for you!

Yes, you can find it but it's certainly not very popular there! My husbands family always gets their peanut butter cravings while they are here visiting!-Kimberly
