Juice Cubes

by Jennie on December 29, 2011

We still don’t do a lot of juice because Cody eats a TON of fruit and doesn’t need anything extra. If I do give him juice I put a splash of it in his water. The main thing he drinks is water and milk and that can get a little boring so I decided to kick his water up a notch with some juice cubes.

I had these silicone shaped molds and I wanted to do something with them so I squeezed an orange, mixed the juice with water and poured it into the molds. Then I froze them and popped them all out and put them into a ziploc bag. Then when Cody is getting some water,  I let him pick an ice-cube shape out of the freezer. As the ice-cube melts, the juice flavors his water a bit!

I got these at Ikea for super cheap... I think a buck!

I used a pitcher for easier pouring into the ice cube molds

I LOVE all the silicone molds and baking ware because everything easily pops out!

How cute?!

This would be great to use with any fruit- especially those that you know you won’t have time to eat and are about to go bad. It makes it even more fun to do a strong color like blue or red so that it turns the water that color as it melts! You could also fill the trays with just juice- squeezed or store-bought, so it gives the water more flavor!!
