Bluegrass for Babies is a unique, family-friendly bluegrass music concert to benefit Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC). Matt and Anne Schneider founded the event as a way to give back to CCHMC. Their son Nicholas required life-saving surgery at the hospital when he was less than two days old. After an ultrasound at 32 weeks, doctors discovered that Nicholas had an intestinal blockage that would need surgery the day after he was born in order to survive.
After receiving world-class emergency care, the Schneiders wanted to help raise funds for the hospital in a way that they could also celebrate with the community. In 2009, Bluegrass for Babies was born.
The first year, the event drew more than 500 individuals from the community and raised nearly $4,500 for CCHMC. In 2010, both attendance and proceeds doubled. This year, the Bluegrass for Babies team hopes to raise $15,000. Proceeds from the event will benefit newborn and young patients of CCHMC.

We love Bluegrass! The Comet Bluegrass All-Stars played at my cousin's house a couple weeks ago. They are great! This sounds like a really fun event and a great cause!
