7 Months and Counting

by Jennie on May 17, 2011

I cannot believe I am already 7 months… yup 28 weeks!! I didn’t find out until I was 9 weeks along, then we had all of our construction/ selling the house, then moving. Now, here I am with my GROWING belly and realizing that I only have a few months to go until my little guy arrives!! I get a weekly email from baby center and this week it says that my little man is two and a quarter pounds and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels…. crazy right?!

Sorry for being such a hot mess! At least I am styling some cute PJ bottoms thanks to Kim :)

I have SLOWLY been getting boxes unpacked and rooms organized and this weekend we worked on getting all the baby stuff out and organized. I have been SO MUCH IN SHOCK this entire pregnancy with all of our “infertility”  battles with Cody that it has been hard for me to imagine that I am going to have two kids soon! However, once I started getting out the newborn clothes, little hats and socks it all hit me! I was standing in my new home (which is such a dream!!), in my second little boys soon-to-be room and tearing up. Although I have had a lot of apprehension with this pregnancy (feelings of worry- worry how Cody will do and what he will think, worry that I won’t be able to love two kids as much as I love one…), I started feeling excitement and happiness to have a newborn in the house again. Going through the pacifiers, blankets and bibs it all came back to me :)

I have been feeling pretty good. I am getting big (I am just about the same size as I was with Cody at this time), peeing like crazy, hormonal (YES, I cry at Charmin commercials!), not sleeping great, but overall, no major complaints! I do have my 7 month OB appt this thursday and I have to drink the DELICIOUS drink so they can measure my glucose— YEAH! Keep your fingers crossed that I pass :)

One thing I REALLY want to try and do is keep things consistent with my second that I did with Cody. O.k. all you moms of mulitples- stop laughing! I KNOW that life will just get crazier with two, but I am going to try REALLY HARD to do the main stuff: journal, keep a monthly calendar for the first year of milestones, baby book etc. One thing we did with Cody was the 3/D Ultrasound and I wanted to do the same with baby boy #2 so we have our appointment tonight!! I can’t wait because I feel like you really get to see your baby and it gets you so excited to meet them :)

My goal over the next month is to try and get a hold of the few things I still need- it is SO much easier this time around because I have mostly everything!! BUT there are a few things I do need- extra camera for the baby’s room for my video monitor (which is one of my FAVORITE things I have!), baby bedding (which I am borrowing from a friend- thanks Kaite!) etc. I also want to get all the baby clothes washed- they are all in the drawers, but need to be washed after being in storage!! After that I should be ready to go!! I know, a little early but I am a planner and CRAZY so it makes me feel better to have it all done!!!

Last thing on my list… a NAME! I want your input so if you think of anything email me, facebook or tweet it so I can get some ideas! The middle name is going to be Michael (after the hubs middle name) so it needs to go with that! Thanks gals for all your love and support :)

You look great!

Boy names are the hardest. I Like the name Julian, What do you think Kim? HAHA That was my first pick with my son but Hubby liked Cole. My baby Sophia will be here Wednesday!!!

Jen – you look fabulous! can't believe how quickly it's passed! Glad you were able to get some "nesting" done with the baby's room! One less thing to think about!

Christine – you make me laugh! You're right – Julian is a GOOD name! :) I love Sophia and Cole!
