Purse Perfector Review: Keeping Your Purse Organized

by Jennie on April 12, 2011

My purse has certainly evolved over the years… I use to wear a different purse every day depending on my outfit!!! THEN… I had Cody :) Time to change in the purse for a diaper bag!! A few months after Cody turned one, it seemed like I needed less “stuff” and I was able to switch back to using my purse (YEAH!). Of course, I use one of my BIG purses to fit all the junk in!! Then, it seemed to get out of control. I had my wallet, lip gloss, hand sanitizer, tissues, lotion, baby stuff- diapers, wipes, crayons……. the list goes on!!! My purse was turning into a BIG BLACK HOLE!!! It is hectic enough being out with a toddler that I needed to find something to simply trying to find things in my purse.

I found a purse organizer at BBB (they have several similar on Amazon) that I started using and it definitely made me a little more organized. It was only $9.99 for two organizers and I put all my stuff in one and then Cody’s in another so that I could easily take out Cody’s section if I was going out without him. It really worked well.

This is the Kangaroo Keeper- nice but hard to see anything and large

You can see it is a little of a black hole

THEN- I was given a product to review that seemed similar to what I was using called the Purse Perfector. I really thought… why do I need this, I already have something I use like this! Well, I have to say I was WRONG!! This Purse Perfector superseded my expectations, even when I had been using a product somewhat similar to it. This thing ROCKS!!! There are several reasons I love this one more than the first one I tried:

  • The Purse Perfector is more compact, however, I can fit MORE in it than the other one. There are two sizes depending on the kind of wallet you have. I have the larger sized one and it fits my huge billfold, a little coloring book I have for Cody, odd/ends, paper etc.
  • The Purse Perfector has more places to store things and again, smaller!!
  • The center section unzips so that you can make it even smaller to throw in your gym bag or briefcase OR you can partially unzip it to make it skinner and slip it into a suitcase!

This is how it unzips-partially or all the way

  • It also stands upright (which my other one didn’t… it would lean to one side) so I can see everything that is in it. I can pull it out of my purse and set it on the counter if need be and it stays up straight!
  • My other one was like a black hole. This one has a beautiful berry color on the inside which contrasts so much from the black outside covering so I can easily see everything.

Here is the front- it has pockets on the outside like this on the front and back

Right now, this is what I have in my Purse Perfector which is completely organized!!!

  • perfume
  • tissues
  • crayons
  • coloring book
  • wallet
  • papers
  • 3 pens
  • highlighter
  • 2 things of lip gloss
  • tide to go stick
  • cover-up
  • lotion
  • mints
  • lint brush
  • mirror
  • calculator
  • mini deodorant
  • fruit/veggie wipes
  • business cards
  • hand sanitizer

The is a side view. The right and left side have pockets and the middle section is large enough for my wallet and papers. I LOVE the pink in the inside!

With ALL of that, I still have three compartments on the front that I haven’t used yet. Overall, this one has been SO much nicer than the Kangaroo Keeper from BBB. I ended up using the big one from that for all Cody’s stuff… diapers, wipes, ointment, etc. So I can still take it out if I am leaving the house without him.

What I love most about this is that it keeps everything organized while also allowing me to switch from purse to purse (or backpacks sometimes!) and still have everything I need in it! ALSO, this product was made and designed by a local to cincy mom!!  I heart Purse Perfector!!

The only thing I can say that threw me off about this product was the price. They range from $54-$59 dollars which is pricey in my opinion. I have never spent this on a purse so I don’t know that I would want to spend it on an organizer for my purse. I did ask the creator of the Purse Perfector about pricing and this is what she had to say:

The price is reflective of the fact that it is made in America for a  fair wage and insurance premiums. I could have it at a lower price, but that would mean going to China or Vietnam, and I wanted the jobs for Americans. I also employ the developmentally disabled at Easter Seals for the packaging rather than that job be done in China also. I look at it in this way: the Purse Perfector will take the brunt of the workout (the lip stick smears and leaky hand sanitizer) of your purse from now on. So if someone pays $30 or $300 for a Coach bag at the outlet store, it’s the Purse Perfector that takes the stains and lets you easily go from $30 tote to your best bag that was a gift from a doting aunt who knows you love designer purses. As a lifelong sewer, these are made the way I would want to make each of them: individually with a focus on good construction. Hand tailored with good fabric, a good thread and quality stitches, the 37 pieces of fabric take more work and skill to become the tailored design.”

After reading this it really made me think!! I do pay higher prices for things that are local because of what I believe in supporting. I would have NEVER thought about it this way and I think you should really consider this not only for purchasing this product, but for all other products as well!

I have to say I LOVE this product and it really is great quality! Thanks Lyn for helping women everywhere!

What do you think? Would you buy it? How do you try and keep your purse/ diaper bag/ briefcase organized??
